As I shut down my campaign, I want to thank the many who said I’d make a good commissioner again. While I am disappointed not to win, I am pleased that nobody had much bad to say about me.

I am also pleased to have been able to reacquaint with old friends and be reinvigorated campaigning with voters. I particularly liked traveling Arizona. One can forget its often stunning beauty.

For those who share a passion for solarizing Arizona there is solace in the primary win of my two Democratic competitors, David Bradley and Jorge Garcia. Both would be solar competent commissioners.

Whoever is elected in November, I hope they will feel a public pressure to build a smarter, cleaner energy future.

To the people who talked me up, who gave me money, who listened to me talk too long, who put a sign in the yard, who drove me around, who put me up, who offered wise counsel, who nourished my appetite for understanding the job-rich architectural potential of a greener economy and who gave of the precious commodity time, I am grateful.

I am glad I ran, I learned a lot and I had fun.
